Michael + Heather

Vancouver, BC is a gorgeous place. So are the Finger Lakes. Mike and Heather traveled all the way from Vancouver to tie the knot here surrounded by their family and friends.

After getting wedding-ready with the talented Valerie of Wish Beauty and Lashes, Heather and Mike had a traditional Catholic mass at St. Stephens in Geneva (and btw, one of the friendliest dioceses EVER). I never say that about Catholic dioceses... The Genesee String Quartet accompanied the bride down the aisle with their lovely music.

After the mass, there was a break for a few hours and then everyone headed to Ventosa for the reception. Ventosa was a great sport about allowing us to change the look of the room – Heather wanted family-style seating, gold chiavari chairs and bistro lighting on the dance floor. McCarthy Tents & Events did a fantastic job as usual with the rentals. And the floral – more stunning work from The Topiary Florist Design Studio. Ann made Heather’s Pinterest board come to life.

Ventosa Vineyards offers incredible service along with the delicious, made-from scratch food. House-cured meats, home-made vinaigrettes, the list goes on and on. Paired with the wines and stunning views across the vineyeard to Seneca Lake, it is a perfect venue for a wedding. During the cocktail hour, we had a caricaturist sketching the guests. This was way, way more popular than I had assumed it would be, the artist the artist only got a break when we started seating guests for dinner. The Djangoners played gypsy jazz during the cocktail hour through dinner. Heather really, really wanted croquembouche for dessert. It’s a tough dessert to make successfully on a hot and humid day, but Premier Pastry nailed it and it was a big hit. There were also several types of pastries and a small cutting cake, all beautifully displayed on Petunia Rose cake stands. Peacock Printing designed a gorgeous invitation suite along with the 'day of' elements like table numbers, menus and escort cards.

After dinner, the talented Mike DjNaps Napoli turned the dance floor into a hot sweaty mess, the best kind!

It was such a fantastic evening - Mike and Heather, you were truly wonderful to work with!

A special thank you to Paul Van Hoy II at Fotoimpressions for sharing all these beautiful pictures with me.
