Rob + Kara

These two.  It’s really hard to put in to words how special this couple is and how awesome this wedding was.  This was a Finger Lakes-focused wedding filled with all sorts of sentimental choices and lots of fun.  I mean, when the wedding day starts with a private barrel tasting at Damiani Wine Cellars, you know that the wedding will be extraordinary!  Kara and Rob were living in NYC, but had a special connection to the Finger Lakes area, specifically Seneca Lake.

So – we started the planning with the concept of ‘non-traditional’ coupled with moments to showcase special places, foods and wines on Seneca Lake.  For the ceremony, we found the Quintas Gallery – a newish art gallery right on the water, just outside the village of Watkins Glen.  Filled with light and beautiful art, it was the perfect backdrop for the ceremony.  Guests were greeted with glasses of champagne to enjoy while looking around the gallery before the ceremony started.   After the ceremony, Dano’s Heuriger served wines from Damiani Wine Cellars and delicious cold appetizers.  Oh, and did I mention that we had a gorgeous 70 degree day in mid-April?  Perfection.

Guests then headed to Dano’s for a continuation of cocktail hour.  We had a tarot card reader which was far more popular than I had guessed it would be – she was busy up until we sat guests for dinner.  Everyone was able to enjoy the stunning views down the lake.

Long tables filled with lovely florals and candles by Flower Power Décor and a delicious family-style meal awaited everyone.  After dinner and desserts, The Notorious String Busters took over for some hot bluegrass tunes.

Kara and Rob – it was so awesome to work with you on your wedding – I loved getting to know both of you - it truly was wonderful.

A very special thank you as well to Special Occasions Hair Design for the glam squad help and Peacock Printing for the wonderful invitation suite design and printing.
